Speciality Foliar Nutrition Range

Saltex Plus is a liquid fertiliser based on a concentrated salt solution, containing sodium chloride and a powerful wetting agent. It is applied to sugar beet, asparagus and some brassica crops from early May until the end of August and feeds the crop through both foliar and soil uptake.

Saltex Plus

is a liquid fertiliser based on a concentrated salt solution, containing sodium chloride and a powerful wetting agent.

For many years, Dendritic Salt was used for foliar application on sugar beet along with a non-ionic wetting agent. The crystals of salt in the product were elongated and this made the product easier to dissolve than conventional fine salt. Effective mixing of the product in the sprayer remained a problem, however, and excessive pump wear and incomplete dissolving were major problems. Saltex Plus overcomes these mixing problems and is conveniently supplied in bulk.

Saltex Plus Application Guidelines

Saltex Plus is applied undiluted through conventional sprayers. Apply 1123 litres/ha (100 gallons/ac) of undiluted Saltex Plus. The application should be split into 2 doses of 562 litres/ha up until mid/late June or made as a single dose for later applications.

Weather Conditions

To maximise the benefits of Saltex Plus, applications in May and June should be made in warm, humid conditions. Applications from the end of June should be made in very hot, dry conditions. The OMEX District Sales Managers can advise on the ideal weather conditions for individual situations.

Saltex Plus contains 840 litres/tonne. The recommended application rate is equivalent to 1336 kg/ha of product, which applies approximately 150 kg/ha of sodium
