The new root and leaf development stages are crucial in the blackberry growth cycle. Establishing strong roots and early establishment will help the plant uptake nutrients more effectively and will be more able to withstand stresses. Blackberry crops will benefit from a combined dose of Kelpak and O-Phyte to aid establishment.
O-Phyte is a liquid phosphite fertiliser. Used at low rates on young blackberry plants, phosphites can act as biostimulants, promoting early root growth and plant establishment.
Phosphites are also highly systemic, capable of moving within the xylem and phloem. Consequently the plant can benefit from improved movement within the plant of partner cations such as Ca, Mg or Mn.
Kelpak enhances root growth and improves pollen germination, pollen tube growth, fertilisation and fruit set.
NPK Blackberry Fertiliser:
Blackberries require a healthy dose of NPK fertiliser to promote healthy growth. Nitrogen in blackberries is responsible for growth, phosphorus aids root development and potassium aids water balance and fruit development.
Blackberry growers can utilise the O-Mix Soluble Powder NPK range, grade 18-18-18+TE for a balanced ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, along with trace elements, vital for the establishment stage of growth. The balanced dose of NPK for blackberries will supply the crop with key macro and micronutrients for healthy establishment and growth.
During the blossom and ripening stages of blackberry crop development growers can utilise the O-Mix Soluble Powder NPK range, grade 6.5-11-30+TE for a higher dose of potassium. Potassium is used to help control the opening and closing of stomata and consequently carbohydrate synthesis and fruit development.
